Hi there, I'm Faiz, a Computer Science student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have extensive experience in software development and technical research; I most recently interned at AWS where I built an end-to-end logging system for AppSync. My values center around environmental stewardship, human-centered innovations, and animal welfare. Moving forward, I aim to leverage my technical skills to serve my values.
These days, I'm most excited about building accessible and scalable applications that feels seamless. I enjoy creating tools to make life easier for other developers, such as my Leaftrail SDK. Recently, I've been diving deep into responsible agentic AI use, discovering ways on how it can transform everything from carbon footprint management to accessible healthcare.
When I'm not in front of the computer, I love going on scenic outdoor adventures (the PNW is my fav) and shooting cinematic photos/videos. Some know me as the person who's always on a random side quest, and I don't disagree. On my strangely alarming side quests, I find a lot of excitement collecting postcards and maps so I can retrace all the detours, near-death moments, and enlightening experiences of my trip. I often say yes to spontaneous high-adrenaline activities, but taking a relaxed, chill day at home guilt-free is another way I have fun. I also have three cats who are all named after a food (Kacang, Nasi, Taro)! Special mention to Mio, Lulu, Comel, and Rawon.
Shoot me an email (or check out my socials) if you ever want to get in touch!
